Southern Alamance High School teacher Teri Rasa has been recognized as the 2023-24 ABSS Outstanding High School Social Studies Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Rasa was selected for her engaging teaching strategies across ability levels in classes that include AP World History. She incorporates interactive projects and activities to motivate her students.
In addition to the classroom, Mrs. Rasa serves as the Leadership teacher, advocating for an honors level. Her leadership students create civic engagement initiatives to better the school community.
She is involved in student organizations like the Student Council and plans major events such as Prom and Homecoming. Mrs. Rasa builds connections through advising and making herself open to student ideas.
She will be honored by the NC Council for Social Studies and move forward to statewide competition.
