After an impressive 32-year career with the Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS), Sabre Robinson, the beloved Principal of R. Homer Andrews Elementary, has announced her retirement. Robinson's unwavering dedication to fostering student growth and creating a nurturing learning environment has left a lasting impact on the East Burlington community.
Throughout her tenure with ABSS, Robinson has held various positions that have prepared her for her current role as Principal. She began as a teacher at Newlin Elementary, later becoming an Academic Coach at both Newlin and AO Elementary. Robinson also served as Assistant Principal at Newlin Elementary and Principal at Eastlawn before taking the helm at Andrews.
A graduate of Meredith College with a degree in Child and Family Relations and a K-6 Teaching Certificate, Robinson also holds a Masters in Administration and Supervision from North Carolina Central University in Durham.
When asked about her most cherished memories, Robinson reflected, "Definitely the students, staff, and families that I have served through the years in East Burlington are the highlight of my career. One of my driving passions is empowering all students to realize their gifts and talents by opening up the opportunity to find their voice, engage them in decision making, and finding ways for them to lead themselves." A particularly proud moment for Robinson was sharing Leader in Me Lighthouse School Status with the staff at Andrews Elementary.
The smiling fifth graders pictured here are a shining example of Robinson's lasting impact, as she has guided and supported them every step of the way since they first walked through the doors of Andrews as kindergarteners.
As Robinson looks forward to retirement, she plans to spend more time with her husband, three children, mother, sister, and brother's family. She also intends to continue her work with foster children as a Guardian ad Litem for Alamance County and increase her involvement in her church.
The ABSS community extends its gratitude to Sabre Robinson for her tireless commitment and the indelible mark she has made on countless lives. We wish her a joyous and fulfilling retirement.
